SUMMARY:Olympic Curling Trials Watch Party
DESCRIPTION:The FLCC will be hosting a curling trials watch party on Thursday\, November 13\, at Bookies Sports Bar & Lounge on the Commons (119 E. State Street\, on the second floor) starting at 8:00 pm. We will watch the game between Team Shuster (winners of the 2018 Olympic gold medal) and Team Dropkin (the reigning national champions). In addition to having members attend\, we are looking to attract non-curlers to join us and learn more about this sport we all love.\n\nThe U.S. Olympic Curling Trials will run from November 11 to 16 for both the men’s and women’s teams. The winners will represent the U.S. at an an Olympic qualifying event in December\, and if they finish in the top two\, they will move on to the Winter Olympic Games in February. \nSo\, please spread the word about the watch party to your social media and local networks. The club has posted the event on Facebook and other social media\, so sharing that post would help get the word out. Let’s try to make this a big\, fun event!

DESCRIPTION:Ithaca Festival Parade \nAs noted in our our last message\, the FLCC is participating in the Ithaca Festival Parade next Thursday evening\, May 30. We will have a truck with the club banner on it\, some plastic stones on wheels\, and brooms for participants to carry. We are meeting up at our staging area\, which is on Cayuga Street between Jay and Lincoln\, across the street from the parking lot of the Tabernacle Baptist Church (see the attached map — our location is circled in green). \nThe parade starts at 6:00 pm\, but we are near the end (64th out of 69 entries)\, so we probably won’t get moving until 6:30 or so. We need to get the truck in place no later than 5:15\, so feel free to show up any time between 5:00 and 6:15.
